Keep it MBAchic: shifting from summer to fall workwear
I really can’t believe we are talking about shifting from summer to fall workwear, but August is halfway over, even if the weather isn’t necessarily playing along. September is right around the corner, so we’re starting to think about dressing for fall and my favorite, back to school season. Since I was a kid, I’ve been weirdly excited for September to start. It meant going back to school and seeing all of my friends, fresh, crisp fall weather and leaves crunching under my shoes, and of course, back to school shopping. This time of year is exciting for me, and even as a grown woman, the freshness and shiny new feeling (and iconic Vogue issue) that comes with September still gets me. I’m excited about transitioning my office wardrobe (and about school supply shopping because: what is September without a trip to Staples?)

We a love a sleeved, neutral sheath. Something so polished and professional about this look, while still being extremely chic. This exact REISS dress is no longer in stores but we found a more formal version at REISS, as well as options from Donna Morgan (Rent the Runway), Lauren Ralph Lauren and Eloquii.
A cape blazer is perfect for transitioning to cooler weather. Breezy for the heat, while still looking chic and polished. Some great options can be found at BCBGMAXAZRIA, Zara (in black and white), Trina Turk and City Chic. Seriously need to grab one for myself this season.

This navy, sleeved midi is fabulous. Love the color, the midi-length, and versatility of this look. This would be so great for running around to meetings and a great transitional look that you can wear well into the fall season. Check out these options from Black Halo, Eliza J, J.Crew and Anne Klein.
A sweater paired with a pencil skirt is a classic combo, but when you add accessories in gem tones like emerald and ruby in to the mix, it really shifts the entire look from summer to fall. We love these classic skirts from Ann Taylor, Lafayette 148, J.Crew and Ted Baker.

As we wait for cooler weather, why not replace your regular blazer with a thicker, wool jacket, the way Anh from @9to5chic has? Her jacket is from Theory and we found similar options from Mango, Vince Camuto, Rag & Bone and Eloquii.
Rock a long and lean natural suit, and eventually weigh it down with heavier accessories. Love this suit by Max Mara (pants, blazer) but for those of us looking to spend less than $1,500 on the look right now, we found some great options. Take a look at these suits by J.Crew (pants), Veronica Beard (pants, blazer) at 11Honore, and don’t miss this Prada and Sonia Rykiel resells over at The Real Real.

Ok, this might be the best part about ushering in the fall season. If you followed the fashion week trends that set up this fall, you might have noticed that MBAchic pink is hot this season, so naturally we “stan” as the kids say. Bring it on! This stunning set is by Argent (blazer), and we found just some of the gorgeous options you’ll find out there — check out Theory (pants, blazer), J.Crew (pants, blazer), and a girl can dream about this new set by Veronica Beard (pants, blazer). Why not pair this with your fave MBAchic vneck underneath? So, so chic.
Finally, summer workwear is all about easy, breezy, fun pieces, and that includes full, printed skirts. You certainly can keep those in your rotation for the next few weeks. Just pair them with a darker top and more classic accessories, and you’ll usher in the new season with style and ease. If you’re able to help identify these bloggers, please let me know (I had them saved and can’t find the info anywhere). We love these skirts by DVF (Rent the Runway), Eloquii, Halogen (multiple prints) REISS, Alice and Olivia and Zara (multiple colors).
