Keep it MBAchic: berry & plum looks to bring on the fall

Fall season is *finally* on its way. It’s my favorite season, because growing up it always signaled the start to a new school year, which mean new beginnings, seeing all of my friends again, and a trip to Staples (obviously). But I also love the crisp air and the crunch of leaves under my boots – and absolutely love the fall wardrobe that comes with it all. We’ve got plenty of fall looks on the way, and this week we’re focusing on berry and plum (and wine and oxblood) tones to help kick off your fall workwear in style.

MBAchic NYFW Rebecca Minkoff

We had the opportunity to attend Rebecca Minkoff’s NYFW Presentation this year and it did. not. disappoint. This first room was my favorite, because of the rich tones and varied silhouettes. Not only did she announce the launch of her inclusive partnership with Stitch Fix, she also shared a ton of work looks for real women (including working moms! That was my second favorite room). P.S. RM is having a massive BUY MORE GET MORE sale that kicks off today, so get to it, people…

Eloquii Berry Peplum Top and Pant

We always love a boss monochromatic look, and this one is no exception. There’s something so powerful about a one-color look (also so flattering). And we all know that a peplum top is still so flattering, so this Eloquii look is perfect for a long day at the office. I’d make sure the hem hits the right point, and that the pants aren’t too tight, and highly recommend the matching blazer; if you grab both plus the pants, you’ll have plenty of combinations to rock this fall.

MBAchic NYFW House of Campbell

The entire House of Campbell collection that presented at NYFW this year was gorgeous, and the Aussie designer showcased a range of looks with plums and berries throughout. This is an excellent summer-to-fall transitional look, and the satiny Sloane Long Sleeve Top can easily go from office to evening drinks, adding to the number of options for your wardrobe.

MBAchic Keaton Eggplant Pant

Did you catch Keaton’s founder Melina Flabiano’s #MBAchicTakeover? We’re featuring their Perfect Pant in Eggplant as one of our go-to’s for the fall, because they’re comfortable, versatile and very stylish. Also, we’re definitely up for supporting our female founders here on MBAchic. Right now, if you purchase using promo code MBACHIC20, you’ll get $20 off your first pair.

REISS Burgundy Maxime Wrap Dress

Dresses like the REISS Maxime Burgundy Wrap Dress are slightly more cozy but still work-appropriate. A dress like this allows you to run around the office between meetings and clients – it’s really so versatile. Two styling notes, I’d add: because it’s a wrap, pin the neckline shut to ensure you’re good to go for the day (pin rather than a cami) and depending on your office formality, I’d wear a sweater or blazer with this, too. Boots or heels, it all works.

MBAchic Pinterest Wine Leather Skirt

I’m so excited for fall layering and textures. It’s all just so much cozier. As discussed, leather skirts can work at work when done right. It’s all about the proportions and sizing, as well as the styling. This is a classic look from Sezane, and while this skirt is sold out, we found alternatives in their Hannah Skirt (suede, not this leather), or in Mango’s faux-leather skirt.

Elie Tahari Fall 2019 Plum Top

These are some cooler tones, but this plum ruffled Kacey sweater by Elie Tahari is exquisite. Work-appropriate but the ruffle detail adds interest and keeps it chic. Love how nicely it pairs with this Leena pant – picking up on the color and the plaid print.

Veronica Beard mix and match

Another gorgeous plaid pant, this time the Veronica Beard Tuli pant with a pink patterned blouse. While there are a few trends happening, it all comes together so nicely (we can also thank the fact that animal prints are basically neutrals now, too).
