We launched an MBA scholarship… again!

MBAchic Fellowship

Estimated reading time: 4 minutes

Last year, we created an MBA scholarship with the Brenau University Executive Women’s MBA as part of their groundbreaking program launch. The impressive inaugural cohort of the EWMBA kicked off in January, with each of our MBAchic Fellows receiving $10,000 toward their studies. And we get to do it again! So grateful for this partnership with the EWMBA, and excited for the opportunities that lie ahead. For more, head to our ‘dvf & ewmba’ story highlight on Instagram and read about our powerhouse panel at DVF.

Deadline Extended: still accepting MBAchic Fellowship applications for January 2021 start!

Roughly halfway through the program, these women have managed challenging online coursework and built out their executive skillset, all while navigating the pandemic (some bravely serving on the frontlines) and taking on career changes and promotions and more. Excited for you to meet them in our new site’s members area… they are a powerhouse group of journalists, nuclear, space, technology and robotics experts, healthcare administrators and more. We’ll also be profiling our first class of MBAchic Fellows in upcoming features on MBAchic, so stay tuned. Even as the country started to shut down, the EWMBA continued virtually, not missing a beat. They continued their programming, bringing in notable authors, entrepreneurs, executives and playwrights from all over the country as part of its Northeast Georgia Health System Speaker Series.

Here’s how it works

As you apply to the Brenau EWMBA, you will also need to complete the MBAchic Fellowship Form by November 1. (FYI, the GMAT is not required). In the form we ask about your career achievements and goals to understand you as a candidate and as a part of MBAchic. We’ll review submissions and get back to you with next steps. Please remember that program deadlines are rolling (only the MBAchic Fellowship form is due November 1). Sharing some FAQ’s below. If you have questions throughout the application process, please get in touch with Dr. Juli Clay, Assistant Vice President for Executive Programs and Communications Department Chair at Brenau. She and her team will serve as the main contacts, and point MBAchic-specific questions our way!

While some things have certainly changed in the last eight months, it’s still a great time for women to go to business school (and a part-time, online program is perfect for right now). BSchool applications are on the rise, as the MBA offers a chance to invest in your education and career while weathering whatever economic storm that lies ahead. Whether or not you’re thinking about business school, it is a great time to take stock of your career. It’s a great time to assess and figure out what needs adjusting or redirecting. This reflection can then help you determine if an MBA should be part of the plan to get to where you’re headed.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
  • When is the MBAchic Fellowship application due?
    November 1, 2020!
  • When are applications to the Brenau Executive Women’s MBA due?
Rolling admissions; the program will accept applications until the cohort is full ahead of the January 2021 start.
  • Are you accepting international students?
Yes! The program is entirely online, with three in-person residencies. The only time you would need to travel or coordinate a visa would be for when we can safely assemble. Residencies are in New York City, Atlanta and one international venue.
  • How much is the entire program?
Brenau has the latest Tuition Schedule on their website, but the MBAchic Fellowship would cover almost 15% of program cost. The only additional costs to you would be flights / travel to get to the residencies, once that’s safe to do. Accommodations are covered by Brenau.
  • Can I apply the scholarship to another MBA program?
This Fellowship exists only for incoming members of the Brenau EWMBA cohort starting in January 2021.

Here at MBAchic, the discussion of the cost of higher education, ROI, and how to pay for your MBA is real. While inspiring or encouraging someone to pursue the degree and offering advice along the way is already incredibly fulfilling for us, helping to fund your studies via this MBA scholarship is absolutely mind-blowing(!!). Still wrapping our brains around this, and so, so excited.
